Invest in Africa through its Technology Internship Program is hosting this 2nd edition of the Tech Innovation Hackathon bringing Kenyan youth (graduates and students) together to use their unique skills to build solutions that empower small and medium-sized business (SMEs) to improve their access to markets, skills and finance. The objective of the program is to also increase their  employability through internship and mentorship opportunities.

Theme of this year's hackathon: "Building Intelligent tools to Boost MSME Competitivenes".

Focus areas (but not limited to):

  1. Transparency and Traceability solutions to enhance international market access for agricultural products
  2. Business diagnosis and use of data to match MSMEs to potential buyers, training, and financing opportunities
  3. Digital customer engagement
  4. Predicting and managing supply chain risks

You will get mentorship and guidance while working on your hacks.

Requirements

Submissions to the hackathon must meet the following requirements:

  • Include access to your Project and meets the above Project Requirements.
  • Include a text description that should explain the features and functionality of your Project.
  • Be the original work of the submitter, be solely owned by the submitter, and not violate the IP rights of any other person or entity.
  • Multiple Submissions: An Entrant may submit more than one Submission, however, each submission must be unique and substantially different from each of the Entrant’s other Submissions, as determined by the Sponsor.
